emerilware stainless steel 10 piece cookware set
Product Description
Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse kicks it up another notch with this stainless-steel cookware collection. This 10-piece set is a lustrous example of the stainless-steel collection, which is made by renowned cookware manufacturer All-Clad. Pots and pans are heavy-gauge, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish outside and blessed with a satin finish inside to conceal utensil marks. To distribute heat uniformly and maintain it, there are thick aluminum disks on the bottoms covered in stainless steel so the cookware works on any stovetop, including induction. For elegance, the disks' edges are clad in copper. This set includes 8 and 10 inch fry pans, 1.5 quart sauce pan, 3 quart sauté, 3 quart casserole, 6 quart tall stock pot and 4 lids.

Remember, this is stainless steel. It's not Calphalon, or Farberware. Start the range on a low setting, I usually start at around 3 on a scale of 1-10 and rarely have to go above 4-4.5 on my range. These pots are made by All Clad, one of THE great names in cookware. I have not had any problems with staining or discoloring. I use bartenders friend to clean the pots. I have even put them in the dishwasher when I was too tired to wash them by hand. For the money, I don't think you can get a better set of cookware that will give you great results if you follow the directions that are included. Remeber, low heat does not translate to slow cook times. Even heat means food cooks at a better rate. Watch your food until you get used to cooking with these.
I bought this set because I felt that Emeril would not sign off on a product unless it was of high quality. Well this crap is awful. I accidently let the pot overboil and the bottom of the pot came off and stuck to my stove top. I had to have the burner replaced. After that I threw this stuff away before my house burns down as a result of using it. If you keep this cookware you had better watch it every minute and whatever you do don't let the liquid boil out or you will have to purchase a new stove. I bought a set by "tools of the trade" and it is excellent.
I bought this 10 pc. set with a free cast iron griddle at Bed Bath and Beyond for the same price almost 2 years ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I haven't had a problem cleaning them. When they cool down I fill them with cold water and add a little dish soap and they clean out as nicely as my calphalon pan, well almost as easily. I use a non scratch scrubber on the aluminum. the Calphalon one i could wipe with a paper towel. The griddle has ridges in it so it is no good for pancakes but for panini's or grilled sandwiches it is excellent. Since it is cast iron you have to season it, of course. Would recommend this cookware to anyone. It is made by All-Clad.
I have used my set daily for four years now.
A caveat; if you are expecting All-Clad heft, this set isn't for you. This set does have All-Clad quality, but in a lighter set.
Pro:
The pans heat evenly across the entire bottom. I am currently stuck using an electric range, but you couldn't tell that in the pans. There are not any burner matching rings burned into any of the pans. I tend to use the highest heat settings while cooking.
All pans have a lip that allows you to pour/transfer their contents without dribbling.
Pans are stainless steel, but easily seasoned so that many foods do not stick.
Size range is perfect for a small family. They are my goto pans for almost every meal.
The lids are glass and you can keep an eye on what's going on in them.
Cons:
I don't use the two smaller frying pans. I don't like the flared sides coming from a small pan bottoms. The small bases on these two pans mean that I leave exposed burner glowing red to the air. They're kinda like small flat bottom woks; only too small for a decent wok.
The lids recurve back into the pan, good for recycling condensation while cooking, bad for taking the lid off as they are guaranteed to collect a lot of condensation and to dump it when you are not expecting it. A major problem if you're frying and you dump the condensation in the oil. I find myself leaning the lid, handle up, somewhere so the water drains on the counter, not back into my pan or onto a burner.
Emerilware Stainless 14-piece Cookware Set with Grill PanEmerilware(tm) Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set Being such a huge fan of Emeril...I was very excited when I purchased this new cookware. The set looked beautiful out of the box but buyer beware. To my dismay, it does not clean well by dishwasher nor by hand. It seems to bake in the cooking marks, e.g. water line from cooking pasta, when chicken stuck to pan. The pretty copper trim blackened after first dishwash: scrubbed over & over w. scour pad, wiped with vinegar but does not return to original color. Also, small dark circles (2-3) appeared irregulary on two of the pots and could not be scrubbed out no matter what I tried. Not sure if it passes the 400 degree test either: one of the pans easily turned the rainbow blueish tint- permanently. After 5 uses, returned it to Macy's to trade up for another brand because these were too high maintenance for cleaning.
We got these as a gift several years ago and have enjoyed them up until the incident. While boiling water the bottom of the small pot came off! The slag holding the bottom of the pan of melted! We have an electric stove! I now have a very nice piece of modern art, I guess. I really wish these had been made better, I guess we will have to be more careful in the future with our very delicate pots and pans from Emril.
The negative one star rating expressed has not been my experience at all, and this cookware is made by All-Clad. I've had this set for over a year and it lokks & works great! Solid, durable and easy to clean. Handles stay cool and the heat conductivity is great! For the money, I don't think this cookware can be beat.
The Emerilware 8" pan and small sauce pan that comes with the set are not designed properly because they are not properly balanced and tip very easily, even on a flat counter top. My sauce pan, which had some hot liquid in it, flipped over when the handle was lightly touched. Luckily, no one was hurt. Also, the bottom of the saute pan turned brown after the first use, even though I was just heating tea and nothing was burned.
The ones who rate this cookware set either have something against Emeril or don't know how to cook! I've had this set for three years and it still looks brand new! Heavy, durable and easy to clean (use Barkeeper's Friend and you'll never soak or use elbow grease again!). Handles stay cool and remember to cook over medium heat because the conductivity is very fast! Get one non-stick pan for eggs and you're set! Buy this set and it's an investment. Other cheap sets you're going to replace every few years. Took me 3 sets of cheap non-stick pans to figure that one out!
This gourmet cookware set will probably be the last one that I'll ever have to buy in life!! It meets and exceeds all of my expectations!!
It's very heavy, solid, durable and efficient and great!! It has thick-clad 3-ply bottoms with a layer of copper sandwiched between to stainless steel plates that spread even heat and end hot dpots that cause food to cook unevenly.
Stainless steel handles are heavy and riveted to the pots and pans! Tempered glass lids with stainless steel riveted handles and stainless steel rims. Plus a lifetime warranty.
Made through an agreement between famous celebrity TV Chef Emeril Lagasse
and All-Clad, this cookware set will last a lifetime with proper use and care.
Comes with a 10-inch open skillet, 8-inch open skillet, 6-qt covered Dutch Oven, 3-qt covered casserole and a 2-qt saucepot. Lids for the Dutch Oven and 3-qt casserole fit 10-inch and 8-inch skillets respectively.
Easy to clean. Just wash by hand in hot soapy water or wash in the dishwasher. Lusterous and luscious cookware that you'll be very proud to own!!!
I've even bought matching open stock pieces to turn this set into a whopping 30-piece set!! So nice to have!!!
